Job summary

RAC Motoring Services is seeking a Mobile Vehicle Technician for the SMR division in the Reading cluster. You’ll handle planned, on‑road servicing and repairs with a structured workflow and a fully equipped RAC van.

Core hours are 8:30 am–5:00 pm, with 1 in 4 Saturdays and up to 40 hours a week. You’ll perform diagnostics, routine servicing and in‑depth repairs in the field, using advanced mobile diagnostics and pre‑booked schedules.

Qualifications

• NVQ Level 2 in Light Vehicle Maintenance (or equivalent) with 2+ years' experience or 5+ years' experience as a Vehicle Technician
• A full UK driving licence with fewer than 6 points

Responsibilities

• Routine servicing
• Diagnostics using mobile equipment
• In-depth repairs you’d normally complete in a workshop
• Customer/practice advice and recommendations after inspection
• Vehicle safety checks aligned to RAC standards

Skills

2+ years' experience as Vehicle Tech

Full UK driving licence
