Job summary

RAC is expanding its SMR division with a Mobile Vehicle Technician role. You’ll perform planned vehicle servicing and diagnostics for members, using mobile tools and a fully equipped RAC van. The schedule avoids emergencies, enabling structured work and quality outcomes.

You’ll earn a base of £40,170 with OTE up to £52,000, plus guaranteed overtime options, generous holiday and pension benefits, and support for future EV and diagnostic skill growth.

Qualifications

• NVQ Level 2 qualification in Light Vehicle Maintenance (or equivalent) with 2+ years’ experience.
• 5+ years’ experience as a Vehicle Technician/Mechanic.
• A full UK driving licence with fewer than 6 points.

Responsibilities

• Routine servicing.
• Diagnostics using advanced mobile equipment.
• In‑depth repairs you’d normally complete in a workshop.
• Member advice and recommendations based on inspection.
• Vehicle safety checks aligned to RAC standards.
