Job summary

The RAC is hiring a Mobile Vehicle Technician for its SMR division. You will work on a clearly scheduled list of pre-booked jobs, servicing and repairing vehicles at members’ driveways or car parks across your local area.

Expect a base salary of £40,170 with on-target earnings up to £52,000, plus guaranteed overtime and discretionary bonuses. The role is 40 hours weekly with some Saturdays, a fully equipped RAC van, and strong career development.

Qualifications

• NVQ Level 2 qualification in Light Vehicle Maintenance (or equivalent) with 2+ years’ experience
• 5+ years’ experience as a Vehicle Technician/Mechanic
• Full UK driving licence with fewer than 6 points

Responsibilities

• Routine servicing
• Diagnostics using advanced mobile equipment
• In-depth repairs you’d normally complete in a workshop
• Member advice and recommendations based on your inspection
• Vehicle safety checks aligned to RAC standards

2+ years’ experience

5+ years’ experience as a Vehicle Tech

Full UK driving licence

Education
