Job summary

RAC is seeking a Mobile Vehicle Technician in the SMR division. The role offers a base salary of £40,170 with on‑target earnings up to £52,000 and a guaranteed overtime option to increase the base salary.

The 40‑hour week includes core hours 8:30 am to 5:00 pm and 1 in 4 Saturdays, covering local Cheltenham cluster work across several towns. As part of SMR, you’ll perform planned servicing and diagnostics on customers’ vehicles, delivering high‑quality repairs away from workshops.

Qualifications

• NVQ Level 2 in Light Vehicle Maintenance or equivalent, with 2+ years’ experience.
• Or 5+ years’ experience as Vehicle Technician with a full UK driving licence (fewer than 6 points).
• Ability to work the planned schedule and travel across the local area.

Responsibilities

• Carry out routine servicing and diagnostics on-site using mobile equipment.
• Perform in-depth repairs in a mobile setting, with RAC standards in mind.
• Provide member advice and recommendations based on inspections.
• Complete vehicle safety checks aligned to RAC standards.
