Job summary

RAC seeks a Mobile Vehicle Technician for its SMR division in the Cheltenham area. The role focuses on pre-booked work, routine servicing, and diagnostics delivered at members’ driveways or work locations, with a structured schedule and no emergency callouts.

The position offers a 40-hour week, a base salary of £40,170 with on-target earnings up to £52,000, and opportunities for premium overtime and bonuses. Full UK driving licence required.

Qualifications

• NVQ Level 2 qualification in Light Vehicle Maintenance (or equivalent) with 2+ years’ experience
• 5+ years’ experience as a Vehicle Technician/Mechanic and a full UK driving licence with fewer than 6 points

Responsibilities

• Routine servicing
• Diagnostics using advanced mobile equipment
• In‑depth repairs you’d normally complete in a workshop
• Member advice and recommendations based on your inspection
• Vehicle safety checks aligned to RAC standards
