Job summary

RAC is seeking a Mobile Vehicle Technician for its SMR division. You will perform planned, pre-booked maintenance and diagnostics on members' vehicles, in customers' driveways or car parks, with a structured schedule and no emergency callouts.

The role offers a base salary of £45,370 with OTE up to £57,000, 40-hour weeks, and a mix of overtime options, 23–25 days' holiday, and a comprehensive benefits package. You’ll join the national RAC team focused on high-quality, planned repairs.

Qualifications

• NVQ Level 2 in Light Vehicle Maintenance (or equivalent) required, with 2+ years’ experience.
• Or 5+ years’ experience as Vehicle Technician/Mechanic.
• Full UK driving licence with fewer than 6 points.

Responsibilities

• Routine servicing carried out on customer vehicles.
• Diagnostics using advanced mobile equipment.
• In-depth repairs that would normally be done in a workshop.
• Provide member advice and recommendations based on inspection.
• Perform vehicle safety checks aligned to RAC standards.
