Job summary

RAC is hiring a Mobile Vehicle Technician in our SMR Division. You’ll work on pre-booked jobs across the Walsall cluster, from Cannock to Lichfield, using our planned schedule rather than emergency callouts. You’ll service, diagnose with mobile equipment, carry out in-depth repairs, and provide member advice.

A structured role with a fully equipped RAC van and supported by overtime and incentives. This role offers a stable, national employer with development opportunities and a clear career path

Qualifications

• NVQ Level 2 qualification in Light Vehicle Maintenance (or equivalent) with 2+ years’ experience.
• 5+ years’ experience as a Vehicle Technician/Mechanic.
• A full UK driving licence with fewer than 6 points.

Responsibilities

• Routine servicing
• Diagnostics using advanced mobile equipment
• In‑depth repairs you’d normally complete in a workshop
• Member advice and recommendations based on your inspection
• Vehicle safety checks aligned to RAC standards
