Job summary

RAC is seeking a Mobile Vehicle Technician for its SMR division. You will follow a clearly planned schedule of pre-booked jobs, diagnostics with mobile equipment, and in-depth repairs you’d normally complete in a workshop.

This full-time role covers Reading and surrounding areas, with a 40-hour week, core hours 8:30–17:00 and occasional Saturdays. A UK driving licence and NVQ Level 2 (or equivalent) are required, with earning potential up to £52,000.

Qualifications

• NVQ Level 2 in Light Vehicle Maintenance (or equivalent) with 2+ years’ experience.
• Or 5+ years’ experience as a Vehicle Technician/Mechanic with a full UK driving licence (fewer than 6 points).

• Routine servicing
• Diagnostics using advanced mobile equipment
• In-depth repairs you’d normally complete in a workshop
• Member advice and recommendations based on your inspection
• Vehicle safety checks aligned to RAC standards
