Job summary

RAC is hiring a Mobile Vehicle Technician for its SMR division to deliver planned, pre-booked servicing and repairs. You’ll work on driveways or at workplaces with a fully equipped RAC van, using advanced diagnostics to keep members moving.

The role offers a base salary of £40,170, with on-target earnings up to £52,000, guaranteed overtime, 40-hour weeks, and Saturday work on a 1 in 4 rotation. A UK driving licence is essential, along with an NVQ Level 2 or equivalent and 2+ years’ experience.

Qualifications

• NVQ Level 2 qualification in Light Vehicle Maintenance (or equivalent).
• 2+ years’ experience as a Vehicle Technician/Mechanic.
• Full UK driving licence with fewer than 6 points.

Responsibilities

• Routine servicing
• Diagnostics using advanced mobile equipment
• In-depth repairs you’d normally complete in a workshop
• Member advice and recommendations based on your inspection
• Vehicle safety checks aligned to RAC standards
