Job summary

RAC is expanding its SMR division and seeks a Mobile Vehicle Technician to perform planned, pre-booked servicing and diagnostics at members’ driveways or workplaces. You’ll work from a fully equipped RAC van with support and parts ordering built in, enabling quality work away from the workshop.

The role offers a 40-hour week with core hours and some Saturdays; base salary £40,170 with earnings potential up to £52,000, plus overtime, holidays, pension, and employee discounts.

Qualifications

• NVQ Level 2 qualification in Light Vehicle Maintenance (or equivalent) with 2+ years’ experience.
• Full UK driving licence with fewer than 6 points.
• 5+ years’ experience as a Vehicle Technician/Mechanic.

Responsibilities

• Routine servicing.
• Diagnostics using advanced mobile equipment.
• In-depth repairs you’d normally complete in a workshop.
• Member advice and recommendations based on inspection.
• Vehicle safety checks aligned to RAC standards.
