Job summary

RAC is expanding its SMR division by employing Mobile Vehicle Technicians who will deliver planned, on‑site servicing and diagnostics directly to members. You’ll work from a fully equipped RAC van, with a defined schedule and support to complete routine servicing and diagnostics, followed by repairs as needed, while advising members on recommendations to keep their vehicles safe and reliable.

This role offers a stable 40‑hour week, with core hours and occasional Saturdays, a competitive base

Qualifications

• 2+ years of experience in light vehicle maintenance or automotive servicing.
• Full UK driving licence with fewer than 6 points.
• NVQ Level 2 in Light Vehicle Maintenance (or equivalent) preferred.

Responsibilities

• Perform routine servicing and inspections.
• Conduct diagnostics using mobile equipment.
• Carry out in-depth repairs you would typically complete in a workshop.
• Provide member advice and recommendations based on inspection findings.
• Conduct vehicle safety checks in line with RAC standards.
