Job summary

RAC is seeking a Mobile Vehicle Technician for its SMR Division. You will perform planned mobile servicing, diagnostics, and repairs on site across the Birmingham area with a fixed, pre-booked schedule.

You’ll operate with a fully equipped RAC van, fuel card, uniform and tools. The role offers 40 hours weekly (with 8am-5pm core hours) and potential overtime/bonuses to reach around £52k OTE while maintaining a strong work‑life balance.

Qualifications

• NVQ Level 2 in Light Vehicle Maintenance (or equivalent) with 2+ years’ experience.
• 5+ years’ experience as a Vehicle Technician/Mechanic.
• Full UK driving licence with fewer than 6 points.

Responsibilities

• Routine servicing
• Diagnostics using advanced mobile equipment
• In-depth repairs you’d normally complete in a workshop
• Member advice and recommendations based on your inspection
• Vehicle safety checks aligned to RAC standards
