Job summary

Octane Recruitment is seeking a Mobile Vehicle Technician to service, maintain and repair customer vehicles at home addresses or workplaces across Gloucestershire. The role is permanent, full-time, with a 40-hour week (Mon–Sat, 8:30am–5pm).

You will work in a home-based capacity across Gloucestershire, with one in four Saturdays and optional overtime that adds substantial earnings. A competitive package includes overtime, pension, life cover and career progression opportunities.

Qualifications

• Must have Level 2 or ideally Level 3 light vehicle maintenance and repair qualification (City & Guilds, IMI, NVQ, or equivalent).
• Must have a minimum of 2 years post-qualification hands-on experience with vehicles.

Responsibilities

• Servicing and repairing vehicles (including EVs) at customer locations such as driveways or office car parks.
• Perform routine maintenance tasks like oil changes, tire rotations and brake inspections.
• Diagnose and repair vehicle problems including engine, transmission and electrical issues.
• Use diagnostic tools and software to identify and resolve complex issues.
• Communicate repair recommendations to customers and handle card payments.
• Keep accurate records of all work and parts used.

Mobile Vehicle Technician providing servicing, maintenance and repairs via pre-booked appointments at customers home addresses or places of work. This is a new and specialist division for the number one national breakdown company in the UK, with over 15 million members.

Pay / salary:£40,170 OTE: Up to £52,000

Shift and schedule for the Mobile Vehicle Technician role
Home-based, working 40 hours per week across 5 days (Monday to Saturday), 8.30am 5pm, working 1 in 4 Saturdays.
1 day of overtime per month = £3,000 additional per year; 2 days of overtime per month = £5,000 additional per year, completely optional more flexibility, more reward.

What youll need to be considered for the Mobile Vehicle Technician role

• Must have a minimum Level 2 qualification in light vehicle maintenance and repair, or ideally a Level 3 light vehicle maintenance and repair qualification (City & Guilds, IMI, NVQ, or equivalent).
• Must have a minimum of 2 years post-qualification hands-on experience with vehicles, either in a workshop or a mobile vehicle role.
• The ability to work independently, make decisions on the go, and follow procedures.
• A customer-focused approach.
• Must have a full UK driving licence max 6 points, no bans.
