Job summary

Octane Recruitment seeks a Mobile Vehicle Technician to service and repair vehicles at customer locations across Streatham and surrounding areas. This permanent, full-time role includes work on EVs, pre-booked appointments, and a structured pay package.

You will work 40 hours per week, Mon–Sat, 8am–8pm with optional overtime. Benefits include progression, pension, life cover, and 24/7 wellbeing support.

Qualifications

• Must have Level 2 or Level 3 light vehicle maintenance and repair qualification.
• Minimum 2 years post-qualification hands-on experience with vehicles.
• Ability to work independently, follow procedures and make decisions on the go.
• Customer-focused approach to service and repair work.
• Full UK driving licence with max 6 points, no bans.

Responsibilities

• Servicing and repairing vehicles at customer locations (driveways, offices, etc.).
• Perform routine maintenance such as oil changes, tire rotations, and brake inspections.
• Diagnose and repair engine, transmission, brake, suspension, and electrical issues.
• Use diagnostic tools/software to identify and resolve complex problems.
• Communicate with customers about issues and repair recommendations.
• Handle payments via card transactions.
• Keep up to date with automotive technology and repair techniques.
• Maintain accurate records of work performed and parts used.

Job description

Mobile Vehicle Technician providing servicing,maintenanceand repair, via pre-booked appointments, at customers home address or place of work. This is a new and specialist division for the number one national breakdown company in the UK, with over 15 million members.

Must have right to work in the UK status.

Shift and schedule for the Mobile Technician role

Home based, working 40 hours per week, across 5 days (Monday to Saturday) 8am – 8PM, working 1 in 4 Saturdays. 1 day of overtime per month = £3,000additionalper year; 2 days of overtime per month = £5,000additionalper year, completely optional – more flexibility, more reward.

Job Responsibilities for the Mobile Technician role

Whatyou’llneed to be considered for the Mobile Technician role

• Must have a minimum of Level 2 in light vehicle maintenance and repair or ideally Level 3 light vehicle maintenance and repair qualification (City & Guilds, IMI, NVQ, orequivalent)
• Must have a minimum 2-year post-qualification hands on experience with vehicles. Either in a workshop or mobile vehicle type role.
• The ability to work independently, make decisions on the go, and follow procedures.
