Job summary

Octane Recruitment is seeking a Mobile Vehicle Technician to service, maintain and repair vehicles at customers' addresses or workplaces. The role is home-based with 40 hours per week, Monday to Friday, plus optional Saturday work and overtime opportunities.

OTE up to £52,000 with a base of £40,170. You will work across Leicester and surrounding areas; a Level 2/3 qualification and a valid UK driving licence are essential, with 2+ years post-qualification experience preferred.

Qualifications

• Must have Level 2 or Level 3 light vehicle maintenance and repair qualification.
• Minimum 2 years post-qualification hands-on experience with vehicles.
• Ability to work independently and follow procedures.
• Customer-focused approach.
• Full UK driving licence with max 6 points.

Responsibilities

• Servicing and repairing vehicles (including EVs) at customer locations such as driveways or office car parks.
• Perform routine maintenance tasks like oil changes, tire rotations, and brake inspections.
• Diagnose and repair vehicle problems including engine, transmission, brakes, suspension and electrical issues.
• Use diagnostic tools and software to identify and resolve issues.
• Communicate repair recommendations to customers.
• Handle payments via card transactions.
• Keep records of work performed and parts used.

Mobile Vehicle Technician providing servicing, maintenance and repairs via pre-booked appointments at customers home addresses or places of work. This is a new and specialist division for the number one national breakdown company in the UK, with over 15 million members.

Shift and schedule for the Mobile Vehicle Technician role

Home-based, working 40 hours per week across 5 days (Monday to Friday), 8am 5:30pm, working 1 in 4 Saturdays. 1 day of overtime per month = £3,000 additional per year; 2 days of overtime per month = £5,000 additional per year, completely optional more flexibility, more reward.

What youll need to be considered for the Mobile Vehicle Technician role

• Must have a minimum Level 2 qualification in light vehicle maintenance and repair, or ideally a Level 3 light vehicle maintenance and repair qualification (City & Guilds, IMI, NVQ, or equivalent).
• Must have a minimum of 2 years post-qualification hands-on experience with vehicles, either in a workshop or a mobile vehicle role.
• The ability to work independently, make decisions on the go, and follow procedures.
• A customer-focused approach.
• Must have a full UK driving licence max 6 points, no bans.
