Job summary

Kautec Recruitment is seeking a Mobile Vehicle Technician to cover North London and Essex. The role involves daily travel to client workshops, performing repairs and maintenance on diverse vehicle platforms including HGVs and specialty units.

You'll diagnose faults, perform breakdown and preventative maintenance, and prepare vehicles for MOT. A Class 2 licence is beneficial, with a 45-hour week, a day shift pattern, and a strong emphasis on safety and reliability.

Qualifications

• Fully qualified Commercial Vehicle Technician or accredited via an authorised apprenticeship.
• Class 2 driving licence is beneficial.

Responsibilities

• Attend callouts to client workshops across North London and Essex.
• Carry out preventative maintenance and emergency breakdown repairs.
• Perform MOT preparation and regulatory checks.
• Carry out engine work and diagnostic investigations.
• Fix running defects and perform chassis/fabrication work.
• Handle hydraulics and pneumatics where required.
• Inspect and correct electrical wiring and systems.
• Ensure adherence to health and safety procedures.

Job description

Mobile Vehicle Technician – North London / Essex

Day shifts (Monday to Friday), 45‑hour week.

As a self‑motivated, independent Vehicle Engineer, you will travel to client workshops across North London and Essex, providing a range of repair and maintenance services for diverse vehicle platforms including HGVs, Ground Support GSE, RORO, fire and rescue vehicles, tractors, tugs and bespoke operating platforms.

Qualifications & Requirements

You will need to be a fully qualified Commercial Vehicle Technician or have been accredited through an authorised apprenticeship. A Class 2 driving licence is beneficial.

Strong knowledge of vehicle technology and ability to follow the repair process from fault analysis to completion are essential.
