Job summary

RAC Motoring Services is seeking Roadside Mechanics who diagnose faults and carry out repairs at the roadside. You’ll manage your toolkit and van supplies, keep precise reports, and act as a trusted RAC ambassador for our members.

The role emphasizes problem solving, safety, and adapting to varying roadside scenarios with strong support from the team. Competitive pay and development pathways are provided.

Qualifications

• NVQ Level 2 in Light Vehicle Maintenance or equivalent with 2+ years' experience
• or 5+ years' experience as a Vehicle Technician/Mechanic
• A full UK driving licence with fewer than 6 points
• commitment to technical development and accreditation

Responsibilities

• Diagnose faults and perform roadside repairs.
• Manage your own toolkit, van stock, and reporting.
• Be calm under pressure, connect with members and fix the right issue.
• Act as RAC ambassador while assisting drivers on scene.
