Job summary

Roundhouse Recruitment is seeking a Field Service Engineer / Mobile Plant Engineer to service and repair construction machinery across a Birmingham/West Midlands regional patch. You will perform diagnostics, servicing and fault finding on excavators and related heavy plant, with full manufacturer training provided.

The role features a 39-hour week, no regular overnight stays, early finish on Friday, overtime paid at 1.5x, and clear progression into senior technician or technical specialist roles

Qualifications

Background in construction plant, heavy plant, agricultural machinery or heavy commercial vehicles (HGVs).
Strong practical hydraulics and electrical diagnostic experience.
Confident fault finding across heavy mobile machinery.

Responsibilities

Field-based servicing, diagnostics and repair of construction machinery.
Predominantly small to medium excavators and heavy plant.
Mechanical, hydraulic and electrical fault finding.
Breakdown diagnosis and troubleshooting.
Regional Midlands patch with no regular overnight stays.
Hours: Mon-Thu 8:00–16:30, Fri 8:00–15:30.
Overtime paid at 1.5x.
Full manufacturer and product training.
