Job summary

CPL UK is recruiting motivated healthcare professionals to join our Scottish mobile health project as Health Care Support Workers (HCSWs/HCAs). The role centres on delivering safe, efficient, participant-centred service in mobile clinics across Scotland.

You will perform essential measurements, venous sampling and data collection, while supporting the clinical team. Essential experience includes phlebotomy and outpatient clinical work, with strong communication and teamwork.

Qualifications

• Minimum of 12 months’ phlebotomy experience with validated venepuncture competency.
• Experience in outpatient or similar clinical environment.
• Trained in Basic Life Support (ILS/ALS desirable).
• Strong communication skills with the ability to engage confidently with participants, colleagues and visitors.
• Ability to work collaboratively across clinical teams.
• Understanding of quality standards, KPIs, risk assessment, incident reporting and infection prevention and control.
• Highly motivated, adaptable and comfortable in a fast-paced environment.

Responsibilities

• Complete all participant assessments: blood pressure, pulse, height, weight, waist, and venous blood sampling.
• Ensure measurements and samples are taken safely, accurately and recorded promptly.
• Monitor participant welfare and escalate concerns appropriately.
• Provide signposting, advice and guidance to participants.
• Prepare and package samples for courier collection.
• Support participant flow to minimise delays and provide on-site operational support.
• Escalate issues to the SDL and contribute to investigations, audits, and service reviews.
• Offer administrative support during busy periods or staff breaks.
