Job summary

Leicestershire Library Service seeks applications for a Mobile Library Driver/Assistant. This is a permanent full-time role, 37 hours per week, based at Coalville Library.

The successful candidate will deliver library services across Leicestershire, driving a mobile library on rural routes and delivering excellent customer service at stops, with a 7.5 tonne vehicle. A CPC is desirable; training can be provided.

Qualifications

• LGV Licence (C) / HGV Class (2) with CPC competence.
• Experience driving large vehicles in urban/rural settings ideal.
• Confident with public interaction and providing friendly service.
• Ability to use library IT systems and basic software.
• Commitment to delivering accessible library services.

Responsibilities

• Drive mobile library to predetermined routes and locations.
• Deliver library services and respond to customer queries at stops.
• Promote library services and programs to the public.
• Maintain timetables and vehicle cleanliness and safety.
• Potential visits to schools and nurseries as required.
