Job summary

Leicestershire County Council is seeking a Mobile Library Driver/Assistant for Coalville Library. The role combines driving a 7.5t vehicle with delivering library services to communities across Leicestershire.

You will follow predetermined routes, assist customers, respond to queries and promote library services. A valid LGV licence (C) and CPC are required; IT skills and excellent customer service are essential. The post is full-time and permanent.

Qualifications

• Must hold LGV Licence (C) and CPC, with experience driving large vehicles.
• Excellent customer service skills and ability to work with the public.
• Competent with IT and library systems; able to adapt to new software.

Responsibilities

• Drive a mobile library vehicle on predetermined routes across Leicestershire.
• Deliver library services and respond to customer queries at stops.
• Promote library services and engage with diverse communities.
• Ensure safety and maintenance checks for vehicle and equipment.
