Job summary

GAP Group is seeking a Mobile Hire & Sales Coordinator to join our GAP Hire Solutions team. The role covers Derby, Cardiff, Tewkesbury, Tilbury, Bury St Edmunds and Bournemouth, with regular overnight stays and a flexible location.

You will manage high‑volume hire desk queries, process 40–50 hires daily, ensure stock, load-check vehicles and work with depot drivers to meet customer needs and maximise sales.

Qualifications

• Previous experience in a high-volume hire desk role is essential.
• Excellent customer service skills with a focus on sales growth.
• Proficient IT skills with MS Office including Outlook and Excel.
• Full driving licence is required.

Responsibilities

• Processing all hire desk administration including customer and supplier queries.
• Managing approx. 40-50 incoming and outgoing hires per day.
• Ensuring sufficient stock levels to meet customer demand and maximise sales opportunities.
• Load checking vehicles and coordinating with depot drivers and fitters.
• Resolving customer complaints and supplier issues efficiently.

The Role

GAP Pump & Power Services Division provide advice, servicing, maintenance and repair for generators, dewatering & sewerage pump applications including a large range of hoses, settlement tanks and water processing solutions.

As the first point of contact at our depots, Hire & Sales Coordinators (HSC) play a pivotal role in driving our business' success, by building strong customer relationships, understanding their hire needs and ensuring we can meet them. The Mobile Hire & Sales Coordinator will provide holiday, absence and staff shortage cover at depots within the region.

This is a challenging, fast paced and rewarding role that provides a fantastic platform to grow and progress into management within GAP Group.

Please note this is a mobile role covering between Derby, Cardiff, Tewkesbury, Tilbury, Bury St Edmunds & Bournemouth and so we are flexible on the suitable candidate's location. The role will involve regular overnight stays.

A typical day for the Mobile HSC will include:

• Processing all hire desk administration including customer and supplier queries
• Managing approx. 40-50 incoming and outgoing hires per day
• Ensuring sufficient stock levels to meet customer demand and maximise sales opportunities
• Load checking vehicles and working effectively with the depot team of drivers and fitters
• Resolving customer complaints and supplier issues efficiently

Successful applicants should demonstrate the following:

• Previous experience of working within a high-volume hire desk role is essential
• Excellent customer service skills with a focus on increasing sales
• Effective communicator with strong organisational skills and attention to detail
• Proficient IT skills with working knowledge of MS Office including Outlook and Excel
• Full Driving licence
• Strong team player with the ability to work to own initiative
