Job summary

Holt Recruitment Ltd is seeking a Mobile HGV Technician in Derby for a permanent role. You will service, maintain and repair heavy goods vehicles at customer premises, depots and roadside locations, travelling between sites to deliver a professional service.

You will diagnose mechanical and electrical faults, complete job cards and reports, and follow manufacturer guidelines. The position offers a competitive salary, enhanced holiday entitlement, overtime rates and clear opportunities for career

Qualifications

• Experience as HGV technician/mechanic/fitter is essential.
• Mobile or field service experience is a plus.
• Own tools required.
• City & Guilds/NVQ Level 3 in Heavy Vehicle Maintenance & Repair.
• Full UK driving licence; Class 1/2 is advantageous.
• Strong diagnostic and fault-finding skills.
• Ability to work independently and deliver high standard of service.

Responsibilities

• Carrying out mobile servicing, maintenance and repairs on HGVs at customer premises, depots and roadside locations.
• Diagnosing mechanical and electrical faults efficiently using diagnostic equipment and industry-standard repair methods.
• Attending customer sites to carry out planned maintenance, inspections and reactive repairs.
• Identifying and rectifying vehicle defects to minimise downtime and ensure vehicles remain safe and roadworthy.
• Following manufacturer guidelines, warranty procedures and industry standards when completing repairs.
• Completing job cards, inspection reports and all relevant repair documentation accurately.
• Managing daily workloads and travelling between customer locations to deliver a professional and efficient service.
• Identifying and reporting any additional vehicle defects or repair requirements to the relevant management team.

As a Mobile HGV Technician / Mobile HGV Mechanic / Mobile HGV Fitter, you should have:

• Previous experience working as an HGV Technician / HGV Mechanic / HGV Fitter is essential.
• Previous mobile or field service experience would be advantageous but is not essential.
• Own tools required.
• Apprentice trained and qualified to City & Guilds/NVQ Level 3 in Heavy Vehicle Maintenance and Repair (or equivalent).
• A full UK driving licence.
• Class 1 or Class 2 licence would be advantageous.
• Strong diagnostic and fault-finding skills.
• Ability to work independently, manage your workload and deliver a high standard of customer service.
