Job summary

Auto Skills UK is recruiting an experienced Mobile HGV Mechanic / HGV Technician to join an established commercial vehicle operation in Warwickshire. You will maintain, service, diagnose and repair HGVs and other commercial vehicles, with a company van provided for on-site and roadside work.

This role suits a skilled technician who can work independently, document work accurately and coordinate with transport and operations teams to minimise downtime.

Qualifications

• Minimum 3 years' HGV Technician experience.
• Qualified in HGV/mechanical trades (NVQ/City & Guilds or equivalent).
• Strong mechanical and diagnostic skills.
• Good knowledge of commercial vehicle maintenance and repair.
• Ability to work independently and manage workload.
• Full UK Driving Licence (valid).
• Safe, reliable and professional workmanship.

Responsibilities

• HGV servicing, maintenance and repairs.
• Fault finding and diagnostics.
• Routine preventative maintenance.
• Brake, suspension and general mechanical repairs.

We're recruiting for an experienced Mobile HGV Mechanic / HGV Technician to join an established commercial vehicle operation.

This is an excellent opportunity for a skilled HGV Technician who enjoys working independently, diagnosing faults and keeping a commercial vehicle fleet safely on the road.

A company van can be provided, giving you the flexibility to attend vehicles and carry out repairs both on-site and at the roadside when required.

The Role

You will be responsible for the maintenance, servicing, diagnosis and repair of HGVs and commercial vehicles.

Duties will include:

• HGV servicing, maintenance and repairs
• Fault finding and diagnostics
• Routine preventative maintenance
• Brake, suspension and general mechanical repairs
• Preparing vehicles for MOT
• Attending breakdowns and carrying out roadside repairs
• Identifying defects and ensuring vehicles are repaired safely and efficiently
• Completing accurate maintenance and repair documentation
• Working closely with transport and operations teams to minimise vehicle downtime

About You

We're looking for an experienced HGV Technician / Mechanic with:

• Minimum 3 years' HGV Technician experience
• Relevant HGV / mechanical qualification such as NVQ, City & Guilds or equivalent
• Strong mechanical and diagnostic skills
• Good knowledge of commercial vehicle maintenance and repair
• Ability to work independently and manage your own workload
• Full UK Driving Licence
• Reliable, professional and safety-focused approach
• Pride in delivering a high standard of workmanship
