Job summary

East Riding of Yorkshire Council is seeking a Customer Advisor to join a peripatetic team. The role covers council and library services across multiple sites, with hours 18 per week on Tuesdays, Wednesdays and Thursdays.

You will travel independently between sites within the network, and a generous mileage allowance is provided. The successful candidate will deliver high-quality customer transactions and information services through face-to-face, telephone, and email channels, supporting digital

Qualifications

• Experience in delivering high-quality customer service in a busy environment.
• Clear and respectful communication with customers in person, by phone, and via email.
• Ability to use digital channels and online self-service tools.
• Comfort with helping customers access library and council services.
• Willingness to travel across sites within the East Riding network.

Responsibilities

• Provide council and library services to customers with a focus on quality and accuracy.
• Handle queries ranging from council tax, housing benefits, to bulky collections and blue badges.
• Promote use of digital channels and self-service facilities.
