Job summary

Johnson Controls in the Central Belt of Scotland is seeking a BMS Service Engineer to cover Glasgow and surrounding area. This field-based role focuses on maintaining and optimising building management systems, delivering service excellence across a diverse customer portfolio.

You will work independently and within a team, perform planned and reactive maintenance, diagnose faults, configure controllers, and support upgrades while upholding health and safety standards.

Qualifications

• Minimum 3 years’ experience in BMS, Building Controls, or automation.
• Strong fault-finding and problem-solving abilities.
• Experience in customer-facing service environments.
• Good IT skills including Microsoft Office.
• Full UK Driving Licence.
• Ability to work independently and participate in an out-of-hours callout rota.
• HNC/HND in Electrical Engineering (desirable).
• Experience with Metasys systems (advantageous).

Responsibilities

• Carrying out planned and reactive maintenance on BMS and control systems.
• Diagnosing faults and resolving technical issues efficiently.
• Configuring and commissioning controllers and network-level devices.
• Modifying software and maintaining accurate system documentation.
• Producing service reports and recommendations.
• Building strong customer relationships and acting as a trusted advisor.
• Supporting upgrade and lifecycle projects.
• Promoting OpenBlue and cloud-connected building technologies.
• Maintaining the highest standards of health, safety and compliance.
