Job summary

Johnson Controls is seeking a BMS Service Engineer to cover the Central Belt of England, delivering service and optimisation on critical building management systems. The role is field-based, requiring travel across the Midlands to Peterborough and beyond, with a focus on reliability and customer satisfaction.

You will diagnose faults, configure controllers, document changes, and support upgrades while promoting OpenBlue cloud-connected building technologies.

Qualifications

• 3+ years’ experience within BMS, Building Controls or Automation.
• Strong fault-finding and problem-solving skills.
• Experience in a customer-facing service environment.
• Good IT skills, including Microsoft Office.
• Full UK Driving Licence.
• Ability to work independently and participate in an out-of-hours callout rota.
• HNC/HND in Electrical Engineering or a related discipline (desirable).
• Experience with Johnson Controls Metasys systems (advantageous).

Responsibilities

• Carrying out planned and reactive maintenance on BMS and control systems.
• Diagnosing faults and resolving technical issues efficiently.
• Configuring and commissioning controllers and network-level devices.
• Modifying software and maintaining accurate system documentation.
• Producing service reports and recommendations.
• Building strong customer relationships and acting as a trusted advisor.
• Supporting upgrade and lifecycle projects.
• Promoting OpenBlue and cloud-connected building technologies.
• Maintaining the highest standards of health, safety and compliance.
