Position Overview

Liskeard Minor Injuries Unit (MIU) is offering a Band 6 practitioner post, operating 8am‑8pm on a regular rotation schedule that includes evenings and weekends. The role is part of a practitioner‑led MIU providing advanced practice care in minor illness and paediatrics.

Responsibilities
  • Deliver effective assessment and treatment of patients using an evidence‑based approach, without supervision.
  • Manage patient care needs, treatment plans and evaluate clinical interventions to reflect patient requirements.
  • Be responsible and accountable for the delivery of patient care within the unit.
  • Work flexibly and respond to change during a period of development for the MIU service.
Qualifications
  • Passion for minor injury care and commitment to providing excellent care as part of the MIU team.
  • Strong communication skills and the ability to work collaboratively in a small team.
  • Sound knowledge of professional issues relevant to the role.
  • Availability for rotation shifts covering evenings and weekends.
