Job summary

We are recruiting an experienced MIG & TIG Welder to join an established manufacturing and fabrication business based in Lye. You will weld using MIG and TIG, fabricate and assemble from drawings, ensuring quality and dimensional accuracy.

You will read engineering drawings, use hand tools and power tools, and work to production schedules. This is a permanent role at 42 hours per week with a £33,175 annual salary.

Qualifications

• Experience as MIG & TIG welder or fabricator welder.
• Strong welding and fabrication skills.
• Experience working with different steel types and thicknesses.
• Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings.

Hours: Monday-Thursday, 7:00am-4:00pm; Friday, 7:00am-1:00pm

The Role

We are currently recruiting for an experienced MIG & TIG Welder to join an established manufacturing and fabrication business based in Lye.

You will be responsible for producing high-quality fabricated components, working from engineering drawings and production specifications. The role will involve MIG and TIG welding, fabrication and assembly, using a range of materials and thicknesses to meet required quality standards.

Key Responsibilities

• Carry out MIG and TIG welding across a range of fabricated components.
• Fabricate and assemble components accurately from engineering drawings.
• Complete welding and fabrication work to the required quality standards.
• Use hand tools, power tools and welding equipment safely and effectively.
• Produce consistent, high-quality welds.
• Check components, jigs, fixtures and tooling before production.
• Ensure finished work meets dimensional and quality requirements.
• Work to production schedules and meet required deadlines.
• Identify and resolve straightforward welding and fabrication issues.
• Maintain a safe, tidy and organised workshop environment.

About You

• Previous experience as a MIG & TIG Welder or Fabricator Welder.
• Strong practical welding and fabrication skills.
• Experience working with different steel types and thicknesses.
• The ability to read and interpret engineering drawings.
• Confidence using hand tools, power tools and welding equipment.
• Good attention to detail and a commitment to quality.
• The ability to work to deadlines and production targets.
• Good communication skills and a reliable approach to work.
• Basic IT skills.
• A practical approach to troubleshooting and problem-solving.
