Job summary

Coats Recruitment Ltd is seeking an experienced MIG & TIG Welder for a busy manufacturing and fabrication site in Stourport. You will produce fabricated components from engineering drawings, performing MIG and TIG welds on steel from 2.5mm to 20mm with a focus on quality.

The role is permanent, full-time, 42 hours per week; Mon–Thu 7:00am–4:00pm and Fri 7:00am–1:00pm, based in Stourport. Salary around £33,175 per year in a long-term manufacturing environment.

Qualifications

• Previous MIG & TIG Welder or Fabricator Welder experience.
• Good practical welding skills with fabrication and assembly experience.
• Experience welding different grades and thicknesses of steel.
• Able to read and interpret engineering drawings.
• Knowledge of hand and power tools.
• Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality.
• Ability to meet deadlines and production requirements.
• Good communication and reliable work approach.
• Basic IT skills.

Responsibilities

• Carry out MIG and TIG welding across a range of fabricated components.
• Fabricate and assemble components accurately from engineering drawings.
• Weld mild and hard steel from 2.5mm to 20mm.
• Complete fabrication work within production timescales.
• Use hand tools, power tools and welding equipment safely.
• Produce consistent, high-quality fillet welds on steel and tube.
• Check components, jigs, fixtures and tooling are suitable for production.
• Ensure finished work meets required quality and dimensional standards.
• Work to production schedules and ensure fabrications are ready for subsequent processes.
• Identify and resolve straightforward fabrication or welding issues.
• Maintain a safe, tidy and organised workshop environment.

Job description

We are currently recruiting for an experienced MIG & TIG Welder to join a busy manufacturing and fabrication environment in Stourport.

You will be responsible for producing a range of fabricated components to a high standard, working from engineering drawings and production specifications. The role will involve both MIG and TIG welding, with materials ranging from thinner sections through to heavier steel fabrication.

Key Responsibilities

• Carry out MIG and TIG welding across a range of fabricated components.
• Fabricate and assemble components accurately from engineering drawings.
• Weld mild and hard steel ranging from approximately 2.5mm to 20mm.
• Complete fabrication work within required production timescales.
• Use hand tools, power tools and welding equipment safely and effectively.
• Produce consistent, high-quality fillet welds on steel and tube.
• Check components, jigs, fixtures and tooling are suitable for production.

About You

• Confidence producing fillet welds on steel and tube.
• The ability to read and interpret engineering drawings.
• Good knowledge of hand and power tools.
• Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality.
• The ability to work to deadlines and production requirements.
• Good communication skills and a reliable approach to work.
• Basic IT skills.
• A practical approach to troubleshooting and problem solving.
