Job summary

Sword Group is seeking an experienced Project Manager to lead key digital and data transformation initiatives and support a major merger. You will manage scope, timelines, risks, and stakeholder engagement in a fast-paced environment.

Responsibilities include delivering projects to governance standards, assembling teams, and reporting progress while actively mitigating risks and ensuring value delivery across IT infrastructure, applications, and data projects.

Qualifications

• Essential: PMP, Prince 2 or equivalent project management certification.
• Essential: UK Energy industry experience.
• Essential: Experience leading IT infrastructure, application, or data projects.
• Desirable: Upstream oil and gas operations experience.

Responsibilities

• Plan and implement project/s.
• Define project scope, objectives and deliverables.
• Actively manage scope.
• Define tasks and deliverables into a viable project schedule, identify dependencies, and manage delivery to the schedule.
• Assemble and manage project team, with a viable resourcing plan.
• Manage the project budget, including periodic updates on value of work done and forecast at completion.
• Support and direct the project team.
• Quality assurance of project deliverables.
• Report on status.
• Identify stakeholders, engage, and communicate.
• Identify and mitigate project risks.
• Resolve issues, escalating as necessary.
• Evaluate and assess the result of the project.
• Prepare projects for stage gates following the client’s governance process.
• Preparation and input to periodic governance forums
