Tradewind Recruitment are currently seeking an experienced SEMH Teaching Assistant / Cover Supervisor to join a specialist educational setting, supporting young people with SEMH needs.

The role involves 1:1 and small-group support, supervising classes, delivering pre-planned lessons, helping with emotional regulation and behaviour, and working closely with teaching and safeguarding teams to create a safe, inclusive environment.

SEMH Teaching Assistant / Cover Supervisor

Tradewind Recruitment are looking for an experienced and compassionate SEMH Teaching Assistant / Cover Supervisor to work within a specialist educational setting supporting young people with Social, Emotional and Mental Health (SEMH) needs.

The Role

• Supporting students with a range of SEMH and mental health needs
• Providing 1:1 and small-group support
• Supervising classes and delivering pre-planned lessons
• Supporting students with emotional regulation and behaviour
• Helping young people re-engage with learning
• Building positive and trusting relationships with students
• Using appropriate de-escalation strategies when situations become challenging
• Providing consistent boundaries and expectations
• Supporting students with anxiety, low confidence and other barriers to learning
• Working closely with teaching, pastoral and safeguarding teams
• Creating a safe, supportive and inclusive environment
