Job summary

Tradewind Recruitment is seeking SEMH Teaching Assistants to support pupils with Social, Emotional and Mental Health needs across Dover and surrounding areas on both a full-time and part-time basis.

You will work alongside experienced teachers and support staff to help pupils who may experience emotional, behavioural or mental health challenges, building positive relationships and aiding engagement with learning in a safe, structured environment.

Qualifications

• Full right to work in the UK.
• Enhanced DBS on the Update Service or willingness to obtain one.

Responsibilities

Tradewind Recruitment is working closely with specialist SEMH schools and alternative provisions across Dover and the surrounding areas. We are looking for caring, resilient and committed Teaching Assistants to support pupils with Social, Emotional and Mental Health (SEMH) needs on both a full-time and part-time basis.

The Role

As an SEMH Teaching Assistant, you'll work alongside experienced teachers and support staff to help pupils who may experience emotional, behavioural or mental health challenges.

You will support students with a range of additional needs, including:

• Social, Emotional and Mental Health (SEMH)
• Autism Spectrum Condition (ASC)
• ADHD
• Attachment and Trauma-related needs
• Anxiety and Emotional Regulation difficulties
• Challenging Behaviour

Every day is different, and your role will be to build positive relationships, encourage engagement with learning and help create a safe, structured and supportive environment where pupils can succeed.

What You'll Be Doing

• Supporting pupils on a 1:1 basis and in small groups.

You’ll also need:

Previous SEMH or SEN experience is desirable but not essential, as full support and ongoing training will be provided.
