Mental Health Teaching Assistant - Bracknell

An amazing specialist school in Bracknell are looking for a Mental Health Teaching Assistant to join their team starting ASAP.

This is an important role where you will be responsible for facilitating and providing tailored emotional support to students, helping them navigate their feelings, build resilience and develop coping strategies.

As Mental Health Teaching Assistant, you will work closely with the students, either on a 1 to 1 basis, or in small groups, where you will focus on providing tailored support.

Responsibilities as a Mental Health Teaching Assistant:
  • Provide 1 to 1 and group support to children with social, emotional and mental health needs.
  • Monitor and track student progress, reporting on emotional and behavioural changes
  • Collaborate with teachers and therapists to implement specialised learning and intervention plans
  • Assist in creating and maintaining a safe and structured learning environment
  • Collaborate with teachers and parents to adapt learning materials to support students
  • Implement individualised therapeutic strategies
  • Support students with healthy coping strategies, ensuring they are able to regulate and work through their emotions
What you need to be a great Mental Health Teaching Assistant:
  • Patience, empathy and genuine passion for supporting children
  • Ability to work collaboratively within a multi-disciplinary team
  • A positive attitude and the ability to hit the ground running
  • Previous experience within a classroom setting is great, but not essential
  • Must be Enhanced DBS checked - if not, we can help you apply for a new certificate
