Qualifications

• Previous administrative and/or customer service experience.
• Excellent organisational skills with strong attention to detail and record keeping.
• Ability to manage email enquiries and prioritise tasks effectively.
• Strong IT skills including CRM systems, CMS platforms, Microsoft 365, and data management.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills with the ability to prepare reports and liaise with stakeholders.
• Confident and professional when speaking with members over the phone.
• Familiarity with UK professional registration frameworks (e.g. CEng, IEng, EngTech).
• Knowledge of accreditation processes within professional or engineering education environments.

Responsibilities

• Support membership operations including CRM updates, onboarding and renewals.
• Provide administrative support to the Membership Committee.
• Coordinate professional registration processes including reviewing membership and registration applications.
• Prepare and circulate applications for committee review.
• Attend committee meetings, record recommendations, and produce minutes.
• Issue election letters and coordinate next steps in the registration process.
• Organise Professional Review Interviews with branches and international assessors.
• Manage and maintain database.
• Submit approved applications to the relevant external registration body.
• Manage ICP documentation where applicable.
• Communicate with applicants throughout each stage of the process.
• Issue membership and registration fee notifications.
• Prepare membership certificates.
• Support website updates related to membership processes.
• Support CPD submissions and annual audit processes for members.
• Provide support and guidance to volunteer CPD auditors.

The Role The Membership Officer will support the delivery and administration of membership services, helping to ensure smooth workflows across membership applications, renewals, professional registrations, and member progression. The role will also support governance and decision-making processes by coordinating activities related to the organisation’s Membership Committee and professional registration requirements.
