Job description

This is a fast paced role in a constantly busy environment. You will work as part of a large team under the guidance of a Lead Receptionist. Our reception team manage many day to day tasks to give admin support to our clinical team and management.

Main duties of the job
  • Meeting and greeting of patients who are consulting with members of the Practice team
  • Ensuring a professional and timely service for patients and visitors
  • Ensure that the reception area is tidy and welcoming
  • Appointment system making appointments for patients
  • Generate prescriptions from patients requests in accordance with Practice Protocol.
  • Inputting patients requests for home visits and printing summary
  • Taking queries from patients and ensuring the information in relayed to the relevant team member for any actions
  • Retrieve and re-file records as required.
  • Answering telephones, divert calls and take messages, ensuring the accuracy of detail and prompt appropriate delivery.
  • Taking post
  • photocopying as requested.
  • Preparing Doctors rooms.
  • Receive deliveries into the Practice and deal with appropriately
  • Dealing appropriately with patients enquiries at reception or via the telephone.
  • Maintenance of patients notes including starting a new wallet when required and dividing the contents in chronological order if a new record.
  • Editing data into patients records accurately.
About us

We are agrowing practice with a population of 11,400 patients working across two sitesthe main site being a purpose built practice in Fenton, and a branch site inLongton, Stoke on Trent.

We have 8 GP's, 6 nurse's and a large admin/reception team.

Understandthe use the information technology equipment in the Practice.

Liaisewith hospitals and other outside organizations in order to provide service forthe patients in a professional manner.

Workunder the guidance of others and also using own initiative.
