Job summary

Build Recruitment is seeking an experienced Mechanical Shift Engineer to join our site-based engineering team in Hammersmith. Working on a continental shift rota (4 on, 4 off), you will deliver planned and reactive mechanical maintenance across a critical site, with hands-on plant room knowledge and the ability to work independently or as part of a team.

The role requires NVQ Level 3 in Mechanical Engineering or Building Services, 3 years’ experience in mechanical maintenance, and strong

Qualifications

• NVQ Level 3 in Mechanical Engineering or Building Services required.
• 3 years’ experience in mechanical maintenance (commercial or critical environment).
• Knowledge of HVAC systems, pumps, chillers, and boilers.
• Ability to work continental shift patterns (days and nights).
• Strong health & safety knowledge and compliance.

Responsibilities

• Carry out PPMs and reactive maintenance on mechanical systems including pumps, motors, AHUs, FCUs, chillers, and boilers.
• Monitor plant operations and ensure efficient performance of building services equipment.
• Respond to helpdesk tasks and complete work within SLAs.
• Undertake fault finding and repair works across mechanical systems.
• Support statutory compliance, record keeping, and health & safety requirements.
• Work collaboratively with electrical colleagues and contractors on site.

Shift Pattern: Continental Shift Pattern – 4 on, 4 off (7am–7pm / 7pm–7am)
