Job summary

PRS in Mayfair is seeking a Mechanical Day Shift Engineer to join a leading facilities management team at a premium commercial office. The role covers hands-on maintenance of mechanical systems, PP M tasks, and reactive repairs within a professional environment.

The ideal candidate will have a City & Guilds Mechanical qualification, solid commercial maintenance experience, and be comfortable with a 1-in-4 call-out rota. Excellent Overtime opportunities and a clear career path are offered.

Qualifications

• Recognised City & Guilds Mechanical Qualification (or equivalent).
• Solid experience in mechanical building maintenance within commercial premises.
• Prior experience in shift-based engineering roles.
• Willingness to join a 1-in-4 call-out rota.
• Strong problem-solving abilities and technical know-how.

Responsibilities

• Perform daily PPM and reactive maintenance on mechanical systems.
• Attend and resolve emergency callouts in line with KPIs and SLAs.
• Maintain all mechanical plant and equipment to high standards.
• Carry out plumbing, pipework repairs, and minor fabric tasks as needed.
• Manage tools, materials, and parts required for maintenance activities.
• Supervise subcontractors and ensure work quality and compliance.
• Support the Lead Engineer and Account Manager with statutory compliance.
• Ensure maintenance schedules and operational targets are met.

Role Overview

As a Mechanical Shift Engineer, you will be responsible for ensuring the smooth operation and high-quality maintenance of all mechanical systems on-site. Working as part of a dedicated maintenance team, your responsibilities will cover both planned preventative maintenance (PPM) and reactive repair tasks across the facility.
