Job summary

Build Recruitment Limited in London is seeking an experienced Mechanical Shift Engineer to join our site-based engineering team in Hammersmith. Working on a continental shift rota (4 on, 4 off), you will deliver planned and reactive maintenance across a critical site, with hands-on responsibility and the ability to work independently as well as with a team.

The role requires NVQ Level 3 in Mechanical Engineering or Building Services, 3 years’ experience, and knowledge of HVAC systems, pumps,

Qualifications

• NVQ Level 3 (or equivalent) in Mechanical Engineering or Building Services.
• 3 years’ experience in mechanical maintenance (commercial or critical environment).
• Knowledge of HVAC systems, pumps, chillers, and boilers.
• Strong understanding of health & safety procedures and statutory compliance.
• Ability to work continental shift patterns (days and nights).
• DBS check required prior to appointment.

Responsibilities

• Carry out PPMs and reactive maintenance on mechanical systems including pumps, motors, AHUs, FCUs, chillers, and boilers.
• Monitor plant operations and ensure efficient performance of building services equipment.
• Respond to helpdesk tasks and complete work within agreed SLAs.
• Undertake fault finding and repair works across mechanical systems.
• Support statutory compliance, record keeping, and health & safety requirements.
• Work collaboratively with electrical colleagues and contractors on site.

Salary: Up to £45,000 per annum
Contract: Full-time, Permanent
Shift Pattern: Continental Shift Pattern – 4 on, 4 off (7am–7pm / 7pm–7am)

About the Role
