Job summary

Build Recruitment Limited in London (Hammersmith) is seeking an Electrical Shift Engineer to perform planned and reactive electrical maintenance on a critical site. The role follows a continental shift pattern (4 on, 4 off) with day and night shifts, focusing on electrical distribution and building services.

The ideal candidate will have NVQ Level 3 in Electrical Installation and 18th Edition, with 3 years’ experience in electrical maintenance on commercial or critical environments.

Qualifications

• NVQ Level 3 (or equivalent) in Electrical Installation.
• 18th Edition Wiring Regulations (essential).
• 3 years’ experience in electrical maintenance (commercial or critical environment).
• Knowledge of LV systems, emergency lighting, and compliance procedures.
• Ability to work continental shift patterns (days and nights).

Responsibilities

• Deliver planned and reactive electrical maintenance across the site.
• Work on LV distribution, switchgear, emergency lighting, and small power.
• Provide first-line response to alarms, faults, and breakdowns.
• Carry out testing, inspection and statutory compliance tasks in line with regulations.
• Support building services operations including BMS resets and monitoring.
• Ensure health & safety procedures are followed at all times.

Shift Pattern: Continental Shift Pattern – 4 on, 4 off (7am–7pm / 7pm–7am)

About the Role

This position suits an engineer with strong technical expertise, particularly across electrical distribution and building services systems.
