Job summary

CBW Staffing Solutions is recruiting for a Shift Engineer to work directly for the client across a large commercial campus in Barbican. This is a multi-skilled role covering mechanical and electrical building services, with planned and reactive maintenance.

Hours are 2 days, 2 nights, 4 off (Days 07:00–19:00; Nights 19:00–07:00). The package totals £52,000 (£48,000 base + £4,000 shift allowance) with enhanced pension and benefits.

Qualifications

• City & Guilds Level 3 Mechanical qualification is required.
• Copies of trade certificates must be provided.
• Proven commercial building maintenance experience is essential.
• Strong mechanical knowledge with multi-skilled ability and fault-finding skills.
• Good communication skills and a professional approach.

Responsibilities

• Carry out planned and reactive M&E maintenance.
• Mechanical maintenance and fault finding across building services.
• Maintain AHUs and FCUs, including filters and servicing.
• Carry out plumbing maintenance and repairs.
• Complete water temperature checks.
• Lighting maintenance and small electrical works.
• Carry out emergency lighting tests.
• Monitor plant and building services through the BMS.
• Respond to breakdowns and coordinate subcontractors.
• Keep site logbooks and maintenance records up to date.
• Attend client meetings when required.

CBW Staffing Solutions is currently recruiting for a Shift Engineer to work directly for the client across a large commercial campus in Barbican.

The successful candidate will be mechanically qualified with a strong background in commercial building maintenance. This is a multi-skilled role covering planned and reactive maintenance across mechanical and electrical building services.

Hours of Work:

• 2 days, 2 nights, 4 off
• Days: 07:00 – 19:00
• Nights: 19:00 – 07:00

Key Duties & Responsibilities:

• Carry out planned and reactive M&E maintenance.
• Mechanical maintenance and fault finding across building services.
• Maintain AHUs and FCUs, including filters and general servicing.
• Carry out plumbing maintenance and repairs.
• Complete water temperature checks.
• Lighting maintenance, fault finding and small electrical works.
• Carry out emergency lighting tests.
• Monitor plant and building services through the BMS.
• Respond to breakdowns and reactive maintenance issues.
• Escort and coordinate specialist subcontractors.
• Ensure site logbooks and maintenance records are kept up to date.
• Attend client meetings when required.

Package:

• £48,000 basic salary + £4,000 shift allowance (£52,000 total)
