Job summary

WGM Engineering, part of the RSK Group, seeks a Mechanical Project Engineer to join the Projects team in Glasgow on a permanent, full-time basis. This hybrid role involves travel between project sites in the Central Belt area and relocation to Stepps within 6 months.

You will deliver mechanical engineering work packages from surveys through procurement, installation, testing, and handover, working with design colleagues, suppliers and site teams to meet programme, cost and quality targets.

Qualifications

• Mechanical engineering background required or suitable apprenticeship with project delivery experience.
• Experience supporting mechanical projects/installations in industrial or infrastructure environments.
• Ability to read mechanical drawings, specs and technical docs.
• Experience coordinating suppliers, subcontractors and site activities to resolve delivery issues.
• Knowledge of mechanical isolation, safe systems of work and construction health and safety requirements.

Responsibilities

• Undertake mechanical site surveys to establish requirements and interfaces with assets.
• Review drawings and supplier submissions; coordinate technical queries with design teams.
• Prepare scopes, procurement specs and BOMs; assess quotations.
• Coordinate procurement and delivery of pumps, valves, pipework, and plant.
• Coordinate mechanical installations with site teams and other trades.
• Prepare risk assessments and method statements; support safe systems of work.
• Support equipment removal, lifting and installation planning with specialists.
• Monitor progress, quality and costs; report risks to Senior Project Manager.
• Collaborate with clients, suppliers and delivery teams to resolve issues.
• Support testing, commissioning and handover documentation.
