Job summary

WGM Engineering, part of RSK Group, is hiring a Senior Mechanical Engineer to lead our E&M Services team on a permanent, full-time basis. The role is site-based across Central Belt Scotland, with a company van and fuel card provided.

You will drive safe, efficient delivery of mechanical field teams across water, utilities and critical infrastructure projects. Join a growing UK-wide engineering group that combines hands-on delivery with support from a wider team.

Qualifications

• Qualified in mechanical engineering at HNC, HND or degree level (or equivalent).
• Experience in senior field-engineering/operational leadership roles.
• Experience leading field-based engineering teams and coordinating delivery.
• Experience allocating labour, subcontractors, plant, and materials across fronts.
• Ability to work with PMs, engineers, planners and support functions.
• Knowledge of RAMS, permits and safe systems of work.

Responsibilities

• Provide day-to-day leadership across mechanical, electrical and MEICA teams, ensuring safety, quality and productivity.
• Coach and develop Chargehands, Field Engineers and subcontractors.
• Oversee installation, maintenance, testing and commissioning per RAMS and standards.
• Plan and coordinate labour, subcontractors, materials, plant and resources with planning teams.
• Maintain strong client relationships and report progress, risks and performance.
