Mechanical Maintenance Technician

Salary: £42,855 (including shift allowance)

Location: Aberdare, South Wales, CF44

Permanent Role – Shift Pattern: 4 on / 4 off
Day shifts: 06:00 - 18:00 (2 days)
Night shifts: 18:00 - 06:00 (2 nights)
Followed by: 4 days off

What You’ll Be Doing
  • Maintaining and repairing plant and machinery to keep production moving.
  • Diagnosing faults and implementing solutions across mechanical and electrical systems.
  • Driving improvements through preventative maintenance and continuous improvement techniques.
  • Working independently when needed, using your initiative to solve challenges.
What We’re Looking For
  • At least 5 years’ experience in a maintenance role within manufacturing.
  • A recognised apprenticeship and ideally HNC‑level qualification.
  • Strong mechanical skills with electrical knowledge.
  • Hands‑on experience with hydraulics, pneumatics, gearboxes, welding, and fabrication.
  • Confidence in PLC fault‑finding (GEM80, Allen Bradley, Siemens S7).
  • Computer literacy and a proactive, problem‑solving mindset.
