Job summary

Mars Petcare UK is seeking a Mechanical Maintenance Engineer for the Melton Mowbray site. You will drive maintenance of high-speed processing equipment, lead a small team, and implement improvements to reduce downtime and waste.

Qualifications

• Minimum HNC/HND in mechanical engineering or a related field, plus practical experience.
• Experience in FMCG/manufacturing environments and ability to troubleshoot complex mechanical systems.
• Proven problem-solving skills including root cause analysis and fault finding.
• Proficiency using Microsoft Excel, PI Process Book and SAP Planned Maintenance.

Responsibilities

• Maintain, troubleshoot, and enhance automated electromechanical systems from refrigeration to meat processing equipment and conveyors.
• Diagnose breakdowns and deliver timely resolutions to reduce downtime and improve productivity.
• Lead by example and coach colleagues, sharing knowledge to elevate the team.
