Job summary

Questech Recruitment Ltd is seeking an experienced Mechanical Maintenance Engineer to join a busy heavy manufacturing site in Darley Dale. The role is hands-on, maintaining heavy industrial machinery to maximise reliability and minimise downtime, with a strong emphasis on safety.

You will fault-find, strip and overhaul equipment, work with bearings, gearboxes, pumps, conveyors, hydraulics and pneumatics, and read mechanical drawings. A proactive approach to continuous improvement is essential.

Qualifications

• Recognised Mechanical Engineering qualification such as NVQ Level 3, City & Guilds or equivalent.
• Experience in heavy manufacturing, engineering or industrial environments.
• Strong mechanical fault-finding skills.
• Experience with bearings, gearboxes, pumps, conveyors, hydraulics and pneumatics.
• Ability to read and interpret mechanical drawings.
• Proactive maintenance mindset and continuous improvement focus.
• Strong focus on health and safety.

Responsibilities

12-hour shifts | 6am-6pm / 6pm-6am | Days & Nights | 3-Week Rolling Pattern
