Job summary

Synergi Search & Select Ltd in Leicester is seeking an experienced Mechanical Maintenance Engineer to join a large, well-invested heavy industrial site. The role covers maintenance on conveyors, pumps, gearboxes and hydraulic systems with a focus on reliability and safety.

You will work on planned and reactive maintenance, enjoy ongoing training and technical development, and have clear career progression within a stable manufacturing environment. A 4 on 4 off days/nights pattern is required.

Qualifications

• RecognisedMechanicalEngineering qualification.
• Strong mechanical fault-finding and maintenance experience.
• Experience in manufacturing, heavy industry, processing, recycling, steel, aggregates, building products, FMCG or similar environments.
• Experience working with conveyors, pumps, gearboxes, bearings and hydraulic systems.
• Proactive and safety-focused approach to maintenance.
• Strong problem-solving skills and teamwork.
• Flexibility to work a 4 on 4 off days and nights shift pattern.

Responsibilities

• Planned and reactive mechanical maintenance across a heavy industrial production facility.
• Diagnosing and repairing mechanical faults on plant machinery and production equipment.
• Maintaining conveyors, pumps, gearboxes, bearings, motors, chains and hydraulic systems.
• Carrying out mechanical installations, repairs and equipment improvements.
• Supporting preventative maintenance activities to improve plant reliability.
• Assisting with root cause analysis and continuous improvement initiatives.
• Minimising downtime and maximising plant performance.

The Role

As a Mechanical Maintenance Engineer, you will be responsible for:

• Planned and reactive mechanical maintenance across a heavy industrial production facility.
