Job summary

Amey is seeking a permanent Mechanical Engineer to join our Advisory team. You will contribute to mechanical building services design for multidisciplinary projects and develop practical, compliant solutions.

In this role you will deliver designs across Rail, Transport, Defence, Justice and Education sectors, liaise with clients and project teams, and support bids and technical proposals. Career development and broad project exposure are offered.

Qualifications

• Degree/HNC/HND in Building Services Engineering or Mechanical Engineering.
• Membership of CIBSE/IMechE or equivalent is desirable.
• Understanding of mechanical building services design including HVAC systems.
• Experience delivering mechanical building services projects within multidisciplinary environments.
• Good understanding of design and specification processes.
• Awareness of commercial considerations in project delivery.

Responsibilities

• Support the delivery of mechanical and building services elements across multidisciplinary projects.
• Prepare designs, calculations, technical reports, drawings and specifications.
• Contribute to project delivery meeting quality, cost and programme requirements.
• Liaise with clients, contractors, suppliers and stakeholders.
• Assist in bids and technical proposals where required.
• Apply engineering principles to develop practical design solutions.
• Coordinate design information with other disciplines for integrated delivery.
• Support health, safety and environmental requirements throughout delivery.
• Mentor junior team members and share knowledge.
