Job summary

Amey is seeking an Assistant Mechanical Engineer to support delivery of mechanical building services across diverse projects in the UK. You will assist in designs, calculations, drawings and technical documentation under experienced engineers, ensuring quality, cost and programme targets.

You will contribute to scheme deliverables, coordinate with multidisciplinary teams, and develop practical solutions while progressing towards incorporated or chartered status with a professional institution.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Mechanical Engineering or Building Services Engineering.
• Understanding of mechanical building services design principles and standards.
• Experience with AutoCAD, Revit or similar software.
• Knowledge of CDM Regulations and risk assessment.
• Strong communication and teamwork skills.
• Experience in building services consultancy environment.
• Awareness of commercial considerations in project delivery.
• Experience undertaking site surveys and inspections.

Responsibilities

• Assist in producing technically sound mechanical building services solutions.
• Support design calculations, specifications, drawings and project documentation.
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to deliver project outcomes.
• Assist with design and coordination of heating, ventilation, air conditioning and public health services.
• Support engineers in developing practical technical solutions.
• Contribute to scheme deliverables while meeting quality, programme and budget targets.
• Identify and communicate project hazards and risks.
• Assist with health, safety and welfare compliance including CDM.
