Job summary

Amey is seeking a permanent Mechanical Engineer to support the delivery of mechanical building services across multidisciplinary projects within the UK. You will develop designs, calculations and technical documentation while liaising with clients and stakeholders to ensure quality and programme requirements.

Working on diverse sectors, you will advance technical expertise, engage with professional bodies, and contribute to bid submissions.

Qualifications

• Degree, HNC or HND in Building Services Engineering, Mechanical Engineering or related.
• Working towards or holding membership of CIBSE, IMechE or another relevant professional institution.
• Understanding of mechanical building services design including heating, ventilation, air conditioning and associated building systems.
• Experience delivering mechanical building services projects within multidisciplinary design environments.
• Good understanding of design and specification processes.
• Awareness of commercial considerations associated with project delivery.
• Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.
• Good understanding of the Construction (Design and Management) Regulations and risk assessment processes.
• Experience using industry-standard design and CAD software including AutoCAD and Revit.
• Ability to work independently whilst contributing effectively as part of a wider team.
• Understanding of interface management and multidisciplinary project coordination.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.

Responsibilities

• Support the delivery of mechanical and building services elements across multidisciplinary projects across sectors.
• Prepare and develop designs, calculations, technical reports, drawings, specifications and project documentation.
• Contribute to successful delivery ensuring outputs meet quality, cost and programme requirements.
• Liaise with clients, contractors, suppliers and stakeholders as part of the project delivery process.
• Support the preparation of technical proposals and contribute to bid submissions.
• Apply engineering principles to diverse project challenges and develop compliant design solutions.
• Coordinate design information with other disciplines to support integrated project delivery.
• Assist in identifying and managing project risks and opportunities.
• Support health, safety and environmental requirements throughout delivery.
• Contribute to the development of junior team members and share knowledge.
• Undertake site visits, surveys and inspections as required.
